The Wall Street Journal: Technology Columnist + Advanced Composites

"A New Age of Materials Is Dawning, for Everything From Smartphones to Missiles. Labor-intensive manufacturing has limited the use of lighter, stronger composites but that may change with emerging techniques."

ARRIS first connected with Christopher Mims almost three years ago when he interviewed the team to learn about cutting-edge continuous fiber composites. Since then, a lot more of the team’s work has been revealed publicly, and we’re honored that ARRIS Technology earned a notable mention in the well-respected publication by an award-winning journalist.

The article went live digitally on July 5th on WSJ.com then in print on July 6th /// wsj.com/tech/composites-manufacturing-boeing-drones-arris-9t-orbital-a422de1b

“Today, you can buy consumer products made with ultralight, ultrastrong parts from Arris, including Brooks running shoes and spokes for bicycle wheels. But what’s coming is even more interesting: Arris’s technology is being tested by Airbus to replace metal brackets inside its planes and by Singapore-based ST Engineering, which performs a substantial fraction of the repairs on airplanes in the U.S.”

Thank you, Christopher, for exploring the ARRIS Technology and all that’s exciting in advanced composites… and cheers to what’s coming next at www.aurorra.com. To learn more about the columnist, visit: wsj.com/news/author/christopher-mims. To buy the physical copy, visit: wsjshop.com.
