Craft Reveals Kype Pro Super Shoe at 2024 NYCM
Craft’s fastest shoe yet, the Kype Pro, debuts with exclusive availability at the 2024 NYCM pop-up, featuring cutting-edge carbon fiber technology by ARRIS.
The Craft Sportswear team is introducing its fastest running shoe to date, the Kype Pro, during the 2024 New York City Marathon (NYCM) Race Week. With limited stock available exclusively at the Craft Running pop-up on Broadway in New York (details), this super shoe features cutting-edge technology designed to boost performance for runners.
The term “super shoes” refers to a new generation of advanced running footwear engineered to enhance a runner’s speed and endurance. These shoes typically feature thick, lightweight foam midsoles that provide high levels of cushioning and energy return, along with carbon fiber plates designed to increase propulsion and reduce fatigue.
The Kype Pro is engineered to push the boundaries of performance and innovation, featuring an ultra-light, precision-engineered carbon plate from ARRIS for unmatched propulsion.
The ARRIS Technology enables advanced continuous carbon fiber plates with greater design flexibility. This novel composites approach creates lighter, more responsive footwear plate designs with targeted stiffness in critical areas, improving performance while using less material. The design, materials, and production platform also reduce carbon emissions, energy use, and waste by utilizing recyclable thermoplastics and bio-based materials compared to traditional weave-based composite methods.
In addition, the Kype Pro boasts a breathable upper for superior support and Pebax® Polymer Foam for ultra-responsive energy return, making it a top contender for runners seeking to break new limits.

Despite the growing buzz surrounding super shoes, highlighted again in a recent New York Times article, most Americans are still unfamiliar with the concept. According to a 2023 report by ARRIS (source), only 8% of Americans know what super shoes are, and among them, 27% own a pair.
However, super shoes are gaining traction among serious athletes, with over half (52%) of dedicated runners now owning a pair. In fact, 59% of super shoe owners have competed in a race wearing their shoes, and 100% of them believe that the super shoes helped their performance.
While most of the American public may still be unaware of super shoes, these innovative designs are expected to gain prominence as awareness grows. With the Kype Pro’s debut, Craft Sportswear is taking a bold step in the performance footwear market, offering runners a chance to experience the future of running technology firsthand during NYCM Race Week.
