AXA Carbon Fiber Insoles: American Podiatric Medical Association Seal of Acceptance
Super Insoles Engineered for Everyday Use, Inspired by Super Shoes, Feature High-Energy Return PEBAX Polymer Foam & Cutting-Edge Propulsive ARRIS Carbon Fiber Plates
AURORRA BY ARRIS™ CARBON FIBER INSOLES RECEIVES AMERICAN PODIATRIC MEDICAL ASSOCIATION (APMA) SEAL OF ACCEPTANCE FOR PROMOTING BETTER FOOT HEALTH
Berkeley, CA, February 24, 2025 – ARRIS Composites, an advanced manufacturer with breakthrough carbon fiber technologies and materials used across industries, today announced that its first consumer product drop of AURORRA By ARRIS Carbon Fiber Insoles has been recognized by American Podiatric Medical Association with a Seal of Acceptance granted to products that contribute to better foot health and better mobility.
ARRIS unveiled its first direct-to-consumer brand, AURORRA By ARRIS (AXA), in late 2024 as a tech-driven collection featuring carbon fiber insoles (Sports Business Journal) and other premium products such as ultralight phone cases designed for everyday performance, available exclusively at aurorra.com and surprise pop-up events. Upcoming partnerships to be announced include co-branded collaborations and retail availability.
The driving force behind limited products available through AURORRA By ARRIS, such as the super insoles, is to show how and why best-in-class materials should and can be available beyond higher-priced super shoes. For example, these carbon fiber plated insoles use the same premium materials to achieve a 3.6x energy return increase in just a lifestyle Nike shoe (source).
While super shoes may be growing in popularity according to a consumer survey hosted by ARRIS in February 2023, the majority of the American public (92%) don’t know what they are—among the 8% who are familiar with the type of shoe, 27% own a pair (Threads post). The term “super shoes” is used to describe a newer generation of running shoes with advanced technology and design features intended to improve a runner’s performance. These shoes typically have a thick midsole made of lightweight foam that provides high levels of cushioning and energy return, as well as a carbon fiber plate that runs through the midsole to increase propulsion and reduce fatigue.
In 2022, the company hit a major milestone when World Athletics approved a development shoe by Brooks Running featuring ARRIS advanced carbon fiber plates (source). Pro athletes wore the shoes at major marathons (Forbes), and in January 2023, the innovative ARRIS plates received recognition with a BIG Innovation Award by the Business Intelligence Group. The Hyperion Elite (HE) 4 by Brooks Running was launched to consumers in February 2024, followed by a much-anticipated PEBA foam version in February 2025. In November 2024, the Kype Pro by Craft debuted at the New York City Marathon, and the super shoe featured a 100% PEBA foam midsole with ARRIS carbon fiber plates.
Founded in 2017, the ARRIS team created a new manufacturing category called Additive Molding by pioneering the development of patented software, materials, and high-volume production methods that prioritize specific stiffness and strength. New levels of product performance are now possible with this first-of-its-kind advanced manufacturing platform, enabling continuous, multi-scale, and cross-scale fiber-reinforced thermoplastic composite structures that are lighter and more sustainable. Industries served include performance footwear, bicycles, aerospace, automotive, consumer electronics, drones, and much more (WSJ).
ARRIS ranked as one of Fast Company’s “10 Most Innovative Manufacturers” and has earned the BIG Innovation Award four years straight from the Business Intelligence Group—the most recent award announced in 2024 recognizes ARRIS MTO Spokes (Made To Outperform®).
